Calligraphy Workshop

Discover the beauty of Chinese–Arabic calligraphy (Sini script)—a rare style that blends the elegance of Arabic letterforms with the flowing, tapered motion often seen in Chinese brush aesthetics.

This hands-on workshop is led by Syeda Maria Zaheerullah, a student of Arabic Calligraphy who has trained through the Deen Arts Foundation and continues her studies under master calligrapher Haji Noor Deen and master tehzib (illumination) artist Fatma Ulusoy Sirajuddin.

You’ll learn how traditional tools are prepared, practice foundational strokes, and complete a meaningful final piece.

In this workshop, you will:

• Get introduced to Sini (Chinese–Arabic) calligraphy

• Learn how the pen and ink are prepared

• Practice foundational strokes and form

• Create a final “Allah” calligraphy piece to take home and hang

Who it’s for: Beginners are welcome. No prior calligraphy experience needed.
