Daff Art

Daff Art: Paint a Drum That Carries Your Heart

Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. In this workshop, we make something beautiful with our hands. The daff is one of the oldest instruments in our tradition. It’s the frame drum that has carried nasheeds, celebrations, and remembrance for generations. In Daff Art, you’ll turn this instrument into a personal piece of art, designed and painted by you.

Over two evenings, instructor Arshiya Razvi will take you from a blank drum to a finished design. It might be a single meaningful word like ḥubb (love), a verse that moves you, or florals and patterns. You’ll leave with something you can play, display, and treasure.

No art experience needed. Come as you are and let your creativity grow in a warm, faith-centered space made for women.

Have a design in mind?
Send us an image or sketch of the art you’d like to create, and Arshiya will help you bring it to life. Designs must be submitted by Saturday, October 17 (2 weeks before the first session).
